Ex-Netflix users, including myself, felt undermined by the price increase and then the threat for Qwikster. Seeing Netflix try to expand their grip on streaming internationally really “grinds my gears” because it seems purely fueled by greed. I chose to go with the Blockbuster Movie Pass offered to me by my TV provider, DISH Network. I am glad that I did because now I get streaming and DVD rentals along with Blu-ray and video game rentals for one flat rate. Unlike with Netflix, I do not have to pay extra fees for Blu-ray’s and I do not have to worry about my service package being split and called Qwikster. In fact, I pay for everything on my one DISH employee bill, and I just sit back and enjoy all of the many means of entertainment that I now get. I am curious if Netflix will make it past 2012, and if they do, I wonder if they will have to drop the DVD service because they cannot afford it.
